Karlo is a Celebrity Makeup Artiste, Philanthropist, Producer and Human Rights Activist. He has dedicated his life to finding and creating beauty in a multitude of experiences.

 
The Puerto Rican born creative began his career in the 90s as a make-up artist for Christian Dior. Working at Dior paved the way to leading jobs with Chanel Beauté and Givenchy. In 1992, Karlo landed his first cover at “W” magazine and his career took another direction with an editorial credit that turned his life into a montage of celebrity, editorial, and televised work. 

By 1999, Karlo had worked as beauty image director for FOX Five celebrity talk show host, Jane Pratt, and collaborated with John Leguizamo on his one-man shows and HBO specials. Karlo also traveled the world for fashion shows in Milan and Paris, as well as throughout Central and South America as makeup trend guru and educator for Elizabeth Arden. Karlo’s blog COMA (Confessions Of A Makeup Artiste), which documents his work, idiosyncrasies, and beauty passions, has been recognized by Bazaar Magazine and the New York Daily News.

Karlo’s work has graced the pages of W Magazine, Vogue Italia/Vogue Pelle, Sportswear International, D N R, W-Men’s Portfolio, Latina Magazine, Caras, and British Vogue. He has worked with a wide range of celebrities including Tori Amos, Patricia Velasquez, Gael García Bernal, Paulina Rubio, Elena Anaya, Taylor Kitsch, Molly Ringwald, Marc Anthony, and James Marsden, among many others.
